  • Focus, Fall, Forward

It is easier to focus when you have something to focus on. The Easter Season was a great way to focus on our own spiritual life. It was very good for me. But how are you doing afterward? I would like to give you some advice. If you want to grow in Christ there will be lots of bumps and bruises.  It will get messy. You will have victories and defeats. But of course in Jesus we will win the war.

I have seen my kids grow up from just crawling to running. They have all gotten hurt somewhere along the way. I still remember Sarah at the age of 2-3….trying to go down the stairs by herself and it was a huge mistake. She fell down from the top. I was so scared that I had lost a daughter. She cried. She was scared but she survived that fall and now she walks…no runs down the stairs.  Have you fallen in your spiritual walk? Have you messed up? Have you lost your focus?  Remember you might fall down the stairs but you will survive. God will sustain the fall. He is not surprised by it. Let’s get back up again and depend on Jesus.

    Galatians 6:8-9

8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

    Hebrews 12

    God Disciplines His Sons

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Of course Isaiah started jumping off the stairs for awhile now….here he goes!!! I think he was 3-4?

  • Hi P.Young,

Last night’s “talk” and prayer time was very much needed for me., thank you. What you said was really true, that the Enemy really knows how to maneuver in a way as to try to defeat you, and we need to recognize that. But sometimes, I see that it’s not always sin that causes us to have these troubles, but sometimes, it’s the storms of life that the Enemy uses insteadLast night, I was able to make better sense of some of the things that are happening to me in my life.
    Just wanted to say thanks.
    -Esther
